ART VPS No Longer Makes RayBox HardwareFrom ART VPS: "It is with regret that from 1st October 2008 ART VPS Ltd will no longer be able to offer their RayBox rendering solution. The situation has arisen due to manufacturing issues." "Existing customers can be assured that valid support contracts will be continued and updates will be available for RayBox, RenderDrive and PURE for the duration of their contract. Customers without current support contracts will be able to purchase any new release of software for a one off fee. There is no change to the RenderServer support Updates for Maya 2009 and 3ds Max 2010 (or equivalent next release) will be made available to RayBox, PURE card and RD6400 customers. Following on from this, new releases will be reviewed. AV6.5 will be the last software update available for the RD5000. Having led the way in the development of dedicated rendering hardware since 2002, ART VPS will continue to produce advanced rendering technology. Shaderlight, previewed at Siggraph 2008, is an entirely new raytracing technology that takes advantage of the rapid development of CPU and GPU architectures. In addition to realising the high quality imagery for which ART VPS is rightly known, Shaderlight enables 3D artists to fine tune high resolution images interactively and in real time.
